I wish I could drape myself in this fabric forever. The feel, the colour, the stretch, it's just the BEST. So I figured it should be made into a comfy-cozy Grainline Linden Sweatshirt that will likely get worn year round. The weight of the fabric is perfect for cool summer evenings, and for winter days. The other day I even layered it with a patterned collared shirt along with jeans for work. It was seriously the most comfortable, yet still stylish and (casual) office appropriate.

The fabric (bamboo cotton french terry in 'heather lake') is from one of my new favourite (Canadian!!!) fabric shops - Blackbird Fabrics. I can't tell you how much fabric I've bought from them over the past few months... they just have such a great selection, and you really can't beat the free shipping with a $100 order. I was having the hardest time finding online Canadian shops to buy fabric from (especially knits) during my "Year of Sewing" and stumbled across Blackbird (among others!) far too late in the process. It is so nice knowing exactly how much I'm spending (yay CAD$), less expensive shipping options, and not worrying about possibly having to pay duty.
Anyways... bit of a tangent there. This is the second Linden Sweatshirt I've sewn, and the first time I've actually added the waistband and arm cuffs. For the first version I made (also using fabric from Blackbird) I left off the waistband and arm cuffs for a more raw look. I actually really do like the waistband and cuffs, and will probably include them on any future Lindens (trust me, there will definitely be future lindens).
Not much more to say, other than this is definitely my new favourite sweatshirt. It doesn't look too slouchy, so it's perfect for lazy weekends. It also does pair nicely with a collared shirt, so I can wear it to work on more casual days. It also pairs really nicely with the Hudson Pants I shared in my last post! It makes for the perfect "I just got home from work and I want to wear something super cozy" outfit ☺️
